Cantharellus cibarius- The "chanterelle" is a choice edible. One of the most highly prized mushrooms out there, it can be an elusive little bugger and refuse to grow at all some years but can be found consistently in the same places when it does. Once you find a patch you will never forget where it is and probably also not tell anyone else.  I've  never found one infested with bugs and they do not need anything but a good trim and/or washing and a gentle cooking to turn them into a sweet, delicious edible mushroom- one of the best in my opinion.  Do your best to find this one.  A real reward awaits you.
